NSI has completed a seven-month blade server update for one
of the world’s leading financial firms. The firm cannot be identified due to competitive and privacy policies.
From November 2004 through May 2005 NSI updated approximately 1,800
IBM blade server hard drives at three locations in the United States.
The work was performed under a contract with IBM.

As a global equities institution the firm
handles millions of transactions every day,
requiring fail-proof processing power. “In an increasingly competitive and
stability-focused environment, the upgrade
was critical to their ongoing operations,” said
Tom McDonald, NSI Chief Operating Officer.
NSI engineers carrying out the blade server update had to perform under
unique conditions, working off-hours to avoid any interruptions in the
financial services business. “This required our people to operate under
very tight time frames,” said Ed Garcia, NSI VP of Service. “They had to
remain extremely focused, working as quickly as possible and without any hitches.”
