When the Unexpected Hits
Expect Exceptional Service from NSI

Unforeseen circumstances face every company; they are beyond anyone’s control and strike without
notice. This was the case recently for Metso Paper USA of Biddeford, Maine.
Metso was struck by lightening early one morning and the electrical charge took out network cables and several critical switches, many ports on the
remaining switches, as well as a few hubs and NICs.
Most employees were unable to access the network and the Internet. To quote Metso’s IT Administrator Stephanie Lauer, “we were dead in the water when it came to
doing any work.”
By lunchtime NSI technicians had nearly every employee back up and running with temporary switches, hubs and NICs. The NSI team stayed all day troubleshooting
other issues and didn't leave until all PCs and printers were online.
Each day thereafter – while replacement switches were on order - an NSI technician either stopped by for a couple of hours or called to check and troubleshoot
any lingering issues. When the new switches arrived they were installed and configured within five hours.
“I want to commend (NSI) on your superb Maine staff,” Lauer said. The IT Administrator summarized her overall experiences with the NSI service team by
saying, “on each occasion the call-back response time, as well as the on-site response time, have been exceptional.”
