Music Files Hit a Sour Note
TotalCare ‘Tunes In’ The Problem

The recent IT health of a major Connecticut medical office could only be described as in ‘stable, but critical condition’.

Employees at the primary care facility started experiencing computer problems and did not know why. “The system was slow, computers were freezing,” said the Office Manager, who also handles IT issues when the need arises. “I was spending hours trying http://www.nsiserv.com/totalcare/to figure out why this was happening.”

She then called the NSI TotalCare team and found out – it was those music downloads, which brought with them a variety of spyware and viruses.

"I like the fact that they (NSI TotalCare) dial-in, check into the problem and let me know," she said. "That's a good feature."

NSI TotalCare immediately closed a firewall port to stop future music downoads and began the process of cleansing the entire IT system of unwanted intruders.

Today the Office Manager also receives quarterly reports that she calls “very enlightening” which provide detailed usage by computer to assist with HIPPA compliance.

As for the NSI TotalCare team, she says, “they have been a godsend.”
