NSI Service Manager Earns Kudos |

A year ago Laurie Underwood faced a crisis.
The Director of Informational Technology for the school district serving the Maine communities of Saco and Dayton had just learned her unit would be separated from the city IT department. She had no prep time, no budget and a ton of IT infrastructure to move and configure - everything from servers and spam filters to firewalls and VPNs.
Enter NSI and our Service Manager for Maine Bill Gombar.
While the NSI sales team found a way to make the move affordable, Gombar put the IT Director at ease.“He is just so laid back, nothing upsets him, nothing flusters him and it just rubs off,” Underwood said.
During the ensuing months they set-up five schools from soup to nuts – without going nuts. Although there were some funny moments, like when they had to move an antenna but could not find a roof latch. Gombar went home, retrieved his own ladder, admitted to a fear of heights and then ascended anyway after learning his customer had the same fear.
“That’s the kind of guy he is,” Underwood said. “He has taken phone calls from me late at night and on Saturday’s. He’s just dedicated.”
The school IT director now refuses to go without Bill Gombar, putting NSI in her budget for the coming school year.
“Bill is a wealth of knowledge. I don’t think there’s anything he doesn’t know and if he doesn’t he’ll find out. There’s no stopping the guy.”
