NSI President Gets Online Wake-up Call
Personal Financial Information At Risk

By simply renting a pair of skis online Tom McDonald, President of NSI, may
have exposed himself to identity theft. It happened recently when a service that accepts online reservations and payment
for equipment rentals was hacked.
“I have now joined the ranks of thousands of people who may have had their personal financial information accessed by
identity thieves,” McDonald said.
The message – once again – is clear; if your business accepts customer financial information then you need to
make sure you are securing and protecting that data from the bad guys.
NSI recommends that you double check your internal security, reevaluate that security plan on a regular
basis, including a complete review of your hosting provider and how they are protecting your customers’ information.
“Trust me,” McDonald said. “You do not want to put your valued customers through the process that I am currently
going through – fraud alerts on my credit report and all the rest – it’s not fun.”
