| Economic Stimulus Opportunity for Hospitals and Doctors |

One of the biggest amounts of money as a result of the Obama administration's economic stimulus package (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) comes from the $20.4 billion directive to modernize hospitals and physician practices through the creation of electronic medical records and making them interoperable.
Although the money won't be available right away, now is the time to start planning. The stimulus funds are expected to begin trickling down at the end of this year, run through 2010, and continue to be available in 2011.
