The State of Connecticut 's Department of Information (DOIT) Technology has taken an important first step toward server consolidation to save taxpayer dollars.

NSI was recently awarded a first of its kind contract to provide VMware virtualization software to the DOIT.

Specifically, the contract calls for VMware Virtual Infrastructure 4 CPU and Virtual Infrastructure Gold Support through NSI.

The DOIT is consolidating its servers with VMware as a possible first step toward server consolidation in other state departments.
