| How Used? |
If you're considering used computers, servers, or monitors be mindful of their age. Anything 12-months old or less is acceptable. |
| Protect Yourself |
| Be sure to purchase reputable products that come with the original manufacturer's warranty. Often “refurbished” equipment will have a 90-day guarantee. At minimum, make sure the reseller has a 30-day return policy. In some cases you might be able to purchase an extended warranty. |
| Price Points |
| Obviously, you don't want to pay too much, but at the same time, paying too little can be risky. We recommend you not go higher than 75-percent of what the equipment would cost new and no lower than 50-percent. And before taking a deeply discounted deal, be sure to check on the reseller's reputation at Web sites such as www.resellerratings.com . |
