 Shortly after the Cadi Company signed up for NSI TotalCare a port scanner was discovered probing their network 300 times a day!Port scanning is the process used to search a network host for open ports. This is often used by administrators to check the security of their networks and by hackers to compromise networks. NSI quickly resolved the issue by tracking the source IP where the scanning originated, contacted the ISP (located in Brazil) and requested they put a stop to the hacker. Within days the port scanning dropped from 300 a day to 30. |
